The Dennis RS Fire Engine was purchased and used extensively by fire authorities when it first appeared in the late 1970s. Differing from previous fire vehicles, which were used in a variety of roles, the RS version was a purpose built fire appliance. One of its special attributes was a reinforced all-welded steel cab to protect the crew.
